In the
hectic weeks leading upto the bands latest cd recording, the Fodens Band
have been putting something back into banding.
Upon return from the bands Easter break, Fodens performed alongside the
Sandbach School Big Band and Lions Youth band in a concert to celebrate
the start of Sandbach Transport Festival. The concert held at Sandbach
School was a huge success with over 500 people in attendance.
During the same weekend a group of players from Fodens travelled to
Oldham Music centre for a coaching day organised by Oldham Music
Services for its brass bands and school ensembles. The day included a
series of master classes, sectional and full rehearsals by Glyn
Williams, Helen Fox, Anna Hughes, Toby Hobson, Dave Morton and Gareth
Westwood prior to an hour concert where works included 'Shine as the
Light' and Music for a festival'.
Last weekend Fodens recorded a new exciting cd of original compositions
conducted by Bram Tovey, further details of this ground breaking cd will
be released in due course.
